You Gotta Start Somewhere

Hey!

Well this will be my first post on my new blog. Needless to say it may take me awhile to get this thing figured out. Not to "techie" ya know. I entered into the world of blogs earlier this year and have been so inspired by the things posted by complete strangers who now feel like really good friends along with friends and family. I hope to also be a place where you can stop by and be inspired. I once told my Mom, I think I was about 5 years old, that I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. Well I'm now 45 and some of my paintings were recently accepted into a gallery. Three very small paintings mind you. So I"m wondering if I've finally became an artist! Does that mean that I am now grown up? Not so sure about that. Being in a gallery was one of those little goals I had in life and I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be able to put a little check mark by it. Please don't get that confused with being a list maker. No, not me. Should be a list maker, have always wanted to be a list maker, but no, still not a list maker. OK...now that that's settled! The check mark... I was happy about it. Now I am feverishly working on creating more and really enjoying it. I feel like I have come alive again!

I started out doing murals in peoples homes and now have found the canvas to be where I prefer to paint. I've discovered that I love to paint onto a black canvas. I was thinking how exciting it must have been to God when He started creation and said "Let there be light!" and what was once black and void of color became full of color. It is thrilling to add color to black...can't seem to get over it. Kind of like those beautiful Amish quilts that have the black backgrounds.

Well, I'm so looking forward to this new venture of blogging. I hope to hear from you soon. Stop by any time.
