COULD IT BE?

I can't believe the EARLY signs of spring here in the Pacific Northwest!  Truely amazing.  And to my dear friends in the Midwest...Don't hold this against me.  :)

RANDOM THOUGHTS...

Here's hoping you had a wonderful Valentines Day!  I hope you had a chance to enjoy being with those you love.  Our family was apart for the "Day of Love".  Son #1 and Hubby were gone for a youth retreat.  Son #2 stayed home with me and was a trooper...he cleaned the kitchen for me... and even watched 2 movies with me that could possibly...according to him..."make him loose his man-card".  What a crack up he is!  Actually my niece was here visiting...my only chance to watch "chick flicks"... and we pretty much made him join us in the movie marathon.  My Niece is a Junior in college and refers to Valentines Day as  S.A.D. which stands for "Singles Awareness Day".  She is too funny.

Saturday morning I got up and went down to an art/craft show that a local woman has been organizing called the Indie Banditas Bazaar.  It was great for getting inspiration.  These people are so creative and I am so happy to see people supporting local artists.  An artist who I recently came across in blogland is Geninne.  I was very glad to find her blog/website because we carry her cards where I work and they are beautiful!  Her blog is a real treat to read too...very creative!  The colors she uses will make you smile...delightful.  After I went to the Indie Banditas show I decided to go to the local fabric store and play with some color for inspiration.  I had to laugh when I got home and looked at my new colors next to one of Geninne's cards.  I guess her cards were more of an inspiration than I had realized!

Aren't her cards ADORABLE!!!  The packaging is just as great too. (sorry didn't take a picture of that)

Do you remember my picture I took of Mr. Robin?

Well...I am very excited because...let's just say that I don't normally paint anything that has a breath...But this time I did and I am quite pleased with the results.

This is just a small part of a bigger picture but I really did enjoy painting Mr. Robin...in fact I'm in the process of creating Miss Chickadee too!  Maybe someday I will attempt the human body...who knows!

Well I must get ready for work.  Hope you all have a great week and thanks for endulging me in reading all of my random thoughts!

RECYLE BIN TO CENTERPIECE

Yesterday I hosted a party at my house.  We were having a pot luck dinner with an Italian theme.  I wanted to make a cute centerpiece for the table that would follow the theme.  So I took a huge can of Spaghetti sauce

Some ugly dried Hydrangea's

And some pretty new flowers and came up with this

The dinner was simple...Manicotti, green salad and garlic bread.  It was a lot of fun and my recycled spaghetti sauce can was fun to use in the centerpiece.
